Treaty Oak

The mighty Live Oak

stood sentry over this space

for two centuries,

brushing the clouds and reaching its massive arms wide,

as they twist and turn,

brushing the ground~

giving squirrels a place to scamper,

bees a place to store honey deep within its knot holes,

and folks a place to gather under its shady canopy.
