A Walk on the Beach

Gulls swoop overhead,

startling tiny sandpipers as they scurry along tide’s edge,

waves crash gently, depositing colorful treasures on the sand,

poking through the spoils,

looking for a shell unscathed by the churning waters,

sun warm on my back,

cool, salty breeze kissing my cheeks~

filling my lungs and renewing my soul.
