The sky is dark velvet,
the air warm and moist.
A steady breeze blows my hair around my face.
I’m standing in the cool damp sand listening to the sea,
as the waves crash against the hard packed sand on the shore,
rising higher until it circles my ankles, before the water retreats~
leaving my feet buried deeper in the sand.
I am firmly anchored on terra firma as my eyes search the heavens.
The Big Dipper stands out among the infinite number of stars number the night sky.
The allure of the boundless sky. The primal seduction of the sea.
